In my main rig (in my sig) I have a Z87 motherboard and I recently found an Asus Z97-K. Should I switch the mobos or should I stick with the z87?

Unless it has some features you are looking for, no. It honestly doesn't matter.

What if you look at it from an overclocking stand point, would the results change? I can't seem to get past 4.6 on any voltage on the z87. I can't personally test it as I am not at my PC

Maybe, but that overclock is a really nice sweet spot anyways. I don't know what the max voltage on that z87 board is but maybe that is an issue.

Nope, not gonna matter. You just got an average / below average chip, that's all.

Or, your cooling is not good.

they could but they could decrease too. It still wouldn't be worth the 2% increase.
