Im not sure what to go with, I want a 980Ti but also want a 2-3 1920x1080 monitors, but people say its a waste. Then I think maybe ill get a 980 maybe even sli, and get the same monitors, but idk whats worth it more? Also if you could suggest some monitors that will go great with either graphics card setup.

Also I thought if I get 2 1920x1080 then i would have to get 120+fps on one to play at least 60fps on each, so I get my full potential out of the monitors, and I tried to research and it seemed that a 980 could not get 120+fps on most games, but a 980ti could. So what should i do?

i would go with a 980 or 970 allow a larger budget for monitors or unexpected expenses

Triple 1080p is dead now, only people who already have it still have it. If you want a 980 Ti, sure you can get triple 1080p, but it would better to go with a 1440p or 4K panel.

Doubling the resolution doesn't necessarily cut your fps in half, that's one major point here.

Playing on 2 monitors is just plain dumb, you will have bezels smack in the middle of the game.

A triple monitor setup for gaming is fairly limited, some people love it for flight sims or racing games, but besides that you're not gaining a lot except for extra peripheral vision (also keep in mind that many games simply won't support it properly).

And lastly, a 980ti is not necessarily overkill for surround gaming on 3 1080p monitors if you really want to go down that route, that's fairly close to 4k and even a 980ti struggles at 4k in many games.

If your going to get a 980ti I would not get anything less then a 1440p monitor

Any of you know some good 1440p monitors, i will to spend a decent amount on 1 for now and then progress to get more later. If you need a budget 500$? or maybe less.

Theres nothing wrong with getting a 980Ti, theyre great cards. MIght be a bit of a waste if only 1080p but you always have room for upgrading anyway.

For $500 this is pretty nice: http://pcpartpicker.com/mr/bhphotovideo/dell-monitor-u2715h

If you really want a nice monitor that's 1440p you're going to have to shell out at least $600-700.

Also I'm not a crazy gamer, just to game for fun and maybe even record with friends. I just want one monitor to game and the other to be on social media and stuff as well. Nothing too extravagant. Maybe I just need a 980 or something, but Idk what monitors to get.

heres my other post about it:

If you want monitor real estate then you need an ultrawide 1440p panel which is the perfect resolution for a 980 Ti. The Predator X34 from Acer is the nicest one you can get right now.

If you are going for multiple monitors 1080p, then get the R9 390x, trades blows with the GTX 980, is cheaper, has 8Gbs of vram, is newer

I would like to have at least 2 monitors, do you think a 980 is good enough

It only matters how many monitors you are gaming on. Having extra monitors doesn't impact performance unless you span games across them.
