My iPhone 4s's 3g and text messaging stopped working. I had all bars, etc and tried rebooting and such. When you text to an iPhone using an iPhone, the text message is blue. Well, Virgin Mobile tested some things and the only way I was able to send a message was if it was green (however they changed that for it to work.) Well they ended up telling me that they were updating some towers and to wait 48 hours. Does this seem legit? It taking 2 days so you can use your phone again because of a "firmware update" on the towers? My mom's iphone, same carrier using 4g/LTE works fine. I tested my iphone in 2 different cities too. Rather large cities. (~150k pop) and it still wouldn't work.

Can you not press and hold the blue text and an option should come up and you can select send as text message.

Didn't realise you could do that. Still, doing that for every text would be a pain.
