I recently built a new rig and am having some troubles. I'm using an MSI Mpower motherboard that has a built in wireless card. I get wayyyyy faster internet when i connect through an ethernet cable. This is where my problem begins. I can't connect through my ethernet cable. I installed all the drivers for my motherboard, is ther something i am missing? when i plugged my ethernet cable into my old rig, i got the faster speeds immediately. But this time around it just isn't working. I don't know what i'm doing wrong. Or did i just get a bad NIC

hmm

yes there is one solid green light and one blinking orange light

then it might be driver related that shows the lan is picking signals and power through cable

i have the driver installed from the msi website but in the windows device manager it says i don't have the driver installed. When i press the option to download it, it just tells me that windows could not find a driver

hmm

Get the driver, extract it to somewhere you know (C:\nic_driver) then in the device manager click properties on the undetected nic, click "update driver" then "browse my computer for driver", input the path to it and click next. Sometimes windows needs a kick in the nuts to make it work.

Something wrong with your connection ?

Run the damn cable :)
