hello im building a game pc and i need some help:

 

i5-4440

corsair vengeance 8gb

asrock h97 anniversary 

r9 290 reference

so its more performance and risk vs safety and loud hot card

 

whats the better choice?

so... I'm going to have to say the second one. That cpu isn't great but maybe with overclocking it will at least push into the 60s in modern games. The 290 is literally one of the worst reference cards ever made though.

 

It completely fails to provide enough cooling even to prevent it from massively throttling or crashing  on occasion. If it was a non-reference 290 I would say the first in a heartbeat, but man reference 290s should be avoided like the plague.

i can get an 5 euro scythe aftermarket cooler alsoi found an r9 290aftermarket but its 50 euro more and im on a budget

yea reference 290 is a really bad idea.

i could also get an 280x for 150 euro and safe 100 euros but how will that card perform in 2560x1080?

you want AT LEAST the haswell based i5-4440 to power the R9 290...and the reference R9 290 i wouldnt touch with a pole...it's a VERY bad idea get a nicer R9 280X instead i would say.
