Windows 8.1 Issue

Hello, I just built my PC but cant use it due to me not having windows I have a product key but no windows disc. I tried to download the Windows 8 Setup but when I entered my key to install Windows 8 into my USB this message appeared: "This product key cannot be used to install a retail version of Windows 8.1." Please help so I can start using my PC. Thank you

If it's an OEM key it can only be used once... I think.

Yes it was a OEM key from g2play.net.Should I have gotten a retailer key instead?

windows keys from shops like g2play etc. are pretty shady and not really legitimate in most cases, maybe you can call microsoft and convince them that you need a new key idk.

Call Microsoft, and tell the story to them.

You can change the PK after installing windows.

 

Search ebay and find a picture of a PK for your install media (trust me, people don't always hide them), install windows using that PK and change PK back to yours before to you activate.
