AT2020 USB | questions

Well, scrap that idea then...

Thanks for the speedy reply.

no problem, I had a at2020 xlr for 2 years and the amount of extra noise in skype was so much I went out and got a sm57 dynamic.

Will getting sm57 dynamic reduce/remove my fan noice in my audio?

Well I got mine for multiple reason like music and I use an interface. but dynamic mics focus on sounds right infront of them.

It depends on how close you want to put the mic to your face.

The closer it is, the quieter the computer fans are relative to your voice so you can turn it down. Also depends on how loud your computer fans are.

Keep in mind the SM57 is leagues ahead of the AT2020, and requires quite a bit of gain. With the AT2020 USB volume is not an issue at all.

I use an AT2035 and keep my fans at 600RPM and they are not audible even without a noise gate. I have my mic on a boom arm which sits about 6" off to the side of my face.
