I would like to use some help with picking parts for a build. To be mentioned, the build is not coming for me, it is coming for my relative.

So the basic idea is to get a build with  something around 500€'ish budget (Budget can be modified if there is such a need). The computer will be used mainly on schoolwork (text editing, image editing..), basic internet surfing, movie watching etc. I know, 500€ is pretty high for such lightweight need, but I want to be sure that the build can stretch into some gaming, watching HD videos on big television screens and such. If this still seems like a too unecessary big budget, please let me know!

The main objects that is needed from the machine are:

Reliability The build needs to be made from as high quality parts as the budget lets. My relative is moving about 900 kilometers (560 miles) away from me, so I can not be there to repair broken stuff.

Stability It needs to run. This kinda goes hand to hand with the reliability

Compactness It would be nice if the build could be as small as possible, but it should not be overheating at all. I'm thinking maybe a Mini-ATX, possibly even Micro-ITX. But still, heat should be kept an eye on.

Affordability Even though the budget is around 500€, if this can be achieved with spending less money, that's always welcome.

That pretty much sums it up. Further questions will be answered !  :P

@Digital not sure of prices in Finland, so I cannot give an exact recommendation, but try to get a M-ITX H97 Motherboard (Asus/MSI/Gigabyte), 8GB of DDR3 RAM, an I3 4160/4170, and a GTX 750Ti, in a Silverstone Sugo SG13/SG05 case.

Considering he will purchase them on the internet, it REALLY doesent matter O.o

jk :P

He is in Finland. If he bought from a Spanish website, he would have to pay 24% VAT (Value-Added-Tax) when it got shipped in, along with high shipping fees. If he bought from a Finnish website, he would not have to pay extra VAT on top of what he is already paying, and the shipping costs will be lower.

Do you need a monitor, OS, peripherals?

Probably not, maybe monitor. But that doesn't need to be counted in the budget.

I'm not sure what 24% added tax you are talking about.  If I purchase the parts form a Finnish store, I will pay the 24% value-added-tax anyway, and as both Spain and Finland are EU countries, there will be no customs duty either. Only thing that would be added to the price is shipping, and as parts are slightly overpriced here at Finland, it would still probably be cheaper to order online and pay the shipping.

Finland is part of the EU so you can buy from any other EU Country without having to pay import tax etc.

Dude, you DO realize there is no import tax in EU countries, RIGHT? :P

Well then why the fuck did this cheapo French website I looked at want import tax? I live in the UK.

No idea, but they shouldn't be charging import tax to another EU Country.
