Storage through PCIe is different from storage through SATA cables.

Most PCIe storage solutions use a SATA protocol but this has to be supported by the BIOS to be able to boot from it. You could ask ASUS if it's possible with your specific motherboard, however :)

By the time you load drivers, you're already in Windows, you can't load drivers before you boot. Unless the BIOS is being updated.
