Lost page file content

I was filling out a document on a page when I took a quick break, believing that the page had been saved. Turns out I was wrong and now the content on the web page has been lost. Its very important and I really dont want to have to rewrite it. Is there a way to view pages that have been closed and also see the content on them? Any and all help is GREATLY appreciated.

Was it a webpage, or a program like Microsoft office?

About two years ago, I accidentally deleted one of my youtube playlists and someone told me there was a way I could see a cached version of the page. It worked and I was able to see the page and all the things in the playlist so I was able to go back and re add them all. Does this sound at all familiar?
