Possible to upgrade a laptop

Uwillparish

Ok first off, Lets get this out of the way, Yes, I am insane. Now that that is over.

I have a asus k55a, I am fucking sick of it, It has a i5-3210m, A low end i5, but still a i5, The problem with it? It has no fucking gpu, And it does not support a dedicated gpu, So im asking something simple, Is there a motherboard that i could go and replace mine with that supports FCPGA988 that has a pci-e slot for a gtx 750 or gt 740 or a mobile gpu slot.

you're better off building a PC or buying a laptop with discrete graphics

already have a pc, Quite a nice one too, But i want something to take in the car and places i dont have room for a monitor, keyboard and mouse, the reason i thought of trying to get a new mobo is because i figured i could save money and just spend ~500 on this one

Unfortunately even if you could find a motherboard with the right specs and whatnot, it wouldn't physically fit into the laptop body. The motherboard is bound to be designed differently to fit in another model laptop.

Basically, when you buy a laptop expect it to stay that way until it dies, with the exception of RAM and SSD upgrades.

i replaced a acer expire motherboard with another acer expire board that had a gpu slot but u will have to find a model of ur laptop that has gpu support or it wont fit in so if they didnt make one ur screwed there but cpu and ram upgrade is easy as piss
