Another Windows 10 Issue (Sound)

Right, so I know... another windows 10 thread. But this time I used the forum search function before posting this.

 

So, Windows doesn't like my microphone apparently. I tried updating all my drivers, I restarted, I unplugged and repluged, I tried being amazing, still no dice. 

 

The sound menue sees that it's correctly plugged in, but when I talk the bar does not increase as it does like it does when my speakers play.

 

I tried a different set of headphones with a different mic, didn't work.

 

any ideas?

did you change the input in the sound control panel?

 

also what audio chipset?

I found a fix

 

1- If not installed already, install the drivers from here: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds029024

 

Should work after restarting your computer, Note, when you turn off or restart your computer you will have these issues again. proceed to step 2

 

2- Uninstall the Realtek drivers. Should work until  you turn off or restart your computer. When you do, proceed to step one.

 

There, not the best fix, but it works for me.

Couldn't find the latest ones, google has failed me

im not a computer expert so it might not make a difference, but it says those drivers are for vista

oh, ok thanks i will try it out. one question, which one should i get? im not sure to get the dolby enabled hack one or the one without, im guessing the one with it just in case, but im asking you because you are much smarter than i am.
