How many GPU cores does the GTX 980 have?

How can they then say that the A10 has 4 CPUS and 8 GPUs?

It's specific to AMD's architecture. Their GPUs are designed with clusters of 64 cores called a "Compute Unit", that's what they're referring to as a "core" on their APUs. 8 CUs = 512 GPU cores on your APU.

NVIDIA uses a completely different architecture.

How many GPU cores does the GTX 980 have? Google wouldn´t give me an answer.

I mean these cores. The AMD A10 7850 has 8 GPU cores for example.

No the 980 is a dedicated GPU they don't have cores like that APU

Because A10 isn't a GPU it's a APU which basically a processor with CPU and GPU cores so that you don't need to buy a dedicated GPU and still have decent performance but a single dedicated GPU like 980 is still way stronger than the 8 GPU cores in the A10 but you want to be specific then the 980 only has 1 core
