Hello,

I'm having some concerns regarding to my cpu. Recently I changed my cpu cooler. Although seem to have no performance issue the temperature of my cpu has increased a lot. I think that the cpu I use shouldn't usually go above 85 degrees during load while before it used to on the line of 70 degrees. I noticed this from looking at the idle temperature increasing from 35 degrees to 45 degrees. I'm pretty sure that I did the thermal pasting correctly and placing the heatsinks correctly too. So right now I'm not entirely sure what the problem is.

One last note I have done recently was changing the power supply which I'm not sure if it is the cause.

CPU: Core i7-4790S

CPU Cooler: Shuriken Revision B (Before Intel Stock Cooler)

Motherboard: MSi Z97i Gaming Ack

Graphics Card: MSi GTX980 Gaming 4G

Case: Raven RVZ01

PSU: SFX600W (Before 450W)

Ambient temp: 24C

What thermal paste did you use?

Did you make sure the heatsink was applied properly?

Did you clean off old thermal paste on the CPU?

I used IC diamond, used it for both the stock cooler and the one now.

Yes. I did made sure it was applied and in contact properly

I did clean off the thermal paste and repasted it with the new one. I made sure there was no grease at all.
