I would get the ASUS one. I've never hear of Eizo, and ASUS' stuff is really good and high-quality.

Asus has more pixels, Eizo has better calibration possibly.

If you have limited budget I would say something like Dell U2515H would be your best bang for the buck option, still calibrated, 1440p, perfectly suitable for proffesional work and much cheaper.

12700, B660M Mortar DDR4, 32GB 3200C16 Viper Steel, 2TB SN570, EVGA Supernova G6 850W, be quiet! 500FX, EVGA 3070Ti FTW3 Ultra.

I'd go with the Asus. The higher resolution, higher pixel density, and larger screen size will be more useful for detailed image work than a 24", IMO.

CPU - Intel i7-4790k | CPU Cooler - Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO | Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-Z97-HD3 (Rev 2.0) | RAM - G.Skill Ripjaws X 16GB (2x8) DDR3-1866 | Storage - Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD | Graphics Card - EVGA GeForce GTX 980ti SC | Case - Fractal Design Define R5 w/Window (Black) | PSU - EVGA 750W B2 | Display - Acer K272HUL | Keyboard - E-Element RGB | Mouse - Logitech g502 | Sound - Klipsch ProMedia 2.1/Fostex TH-x00/Sennheiser HD595

Hello 3dlex :)

I currently use the PA279Q as my daily driver and couldn't recommend it more, pre-calibrated out of the box the colours were superb, obviously I fiddled about a bit to get the colour warmth just as I like it :P 10 bit colour could be a big advantage for you if you use Photoshop a lot, and it is very obvious the difference between 10 bit colour and 8 bit colour when mucking about with colour filled graphics, 10 bit will for example give deeper greens (think along the lines of emeralds) compared to 8 bit.

Looking at the Eizo's spec page main difference I can sport is the resolution difference, the Asus PA279Q runs native @ 2560x1440 (16:9), whilst the Eizo run native @ 1920x1200 (16:10)

So if your looking for a wider screen then the 16:10 route may be your way to go.

Anyways back to the PA279Q:

Very sleek design, and a massive positive is the DisplayPort output allowing you to daisy chain another monitor via DisplayPort (something that I currently use to run my secondary PA238Q) the Eizo doesn't seem to have this feature which in my opinion is a massive drawback. All the monitor controls are very intuitive and easy to get around, the monitor menus are very simple to understand and the small joystick makes flicking around menus very easy. I won't go into the menus in detail but you can certainty customise the monitor to suit your needs and wants in a lot of ways ranging from the usual sharpness, brightness etc. Down to Six-axis Hue / Saturation, Colour Gain and offset .

Been running this monitor for over 5 months now and its been a dream and a fantastic step up from the PA238Q.

Feel free to ask me any specific questions about the PA279Q and I'll do my best to answer.

Thanks,

Carbon

Brand loyalist.

Go experience shame in a corner somewhere.

Also - for the uninformed - Eizo is a professional monitor maker for the industrial sector and such, they occasionally make a gaming monitor - and its very kick ass - like the fg2421 with blackframe insertion to get CRT like motion clarity on an LCD and the smoothness of 240hz.
