Hi,

So on sunday I decided to upgrade my rig to Windows 10, Not a good idea my internet is now slower for some reason and I have lost my GTA V save game with a fair few hours of gameplay put into it.

Does anyone know if there is a way to recover a game save? I always thought steam stored them. And is the internet problem a common issue with Win 10?

My issues revolve around Edge (just want to give it a chance) and useability of various apps.

You can recover data by filename or extension with a variety of free software if you got a mechanical HDD. Very few work on SSDs. Use your machine as little as possible until you try. I usually go with Photorec.

I'm considering reverting back to 8.1 Pro for now was a much smoother experience, I actually like windows 8.1 I don't get why so many people hated it. I have never had a days problem with 8 other than certain games had messed up textures when set to high but they were older games.

The tiles and "full screen everything" pissed me off.  I ended up installing Classic Shell to calm my tits.

Auto Updating Drivers ...

Why Microsoft would you not allow "Pro" users access to the update settings as people like me do not want our drivers auto updated.

The only driver which works with my R9 280X is one from December 2013 ... and Windows 10 updated it to the newest version causing just a load of crashes.

Windows 10 is pretty good. The problem is driver related.

Manufactures started to work on their drivers at the last minute, and just to have something out, they released rushed out drivers.

That is the biggest problem.

It should all sort itself out within a month or so. Even Microsoft very own Surface line isn't Windows 10 ready due to driver issues (reduce battery life, unable to sleep, Intel GPU performance drop, device is now warm at idle, etc... varies between models/generations).
