So i got a GTX 970 a few days ago, found out pretty fast that i really didnt need it as much as i thought, sold it for a profit, so that wasnt so bad. With that said, i run a MSI 770 Lightning 2GB card, finding a 770 lightning card these days is not an easy task and i would like to SLI it, a used 770 card cost about 1/3 of the 970 cost, but can i for example sli it with a 770 gaming or a different brand, maybe even a 4gb card?

If i were to pair my 2gb card with a 4gb would that even work or would it screw things up?

Ryzen 7 3700x, MSI B450 Tomahawk MAX, 16GB Ballistix Elite 3600MHz, MSI RTX 2070 Super Gaming X Trio, Corsair RM750x V2

You would HAVE to pair it with another 770 2GB. Different brand is a yes though

IIRC it will only use 2GB.

Either it uses the lowest amount or doesn't work at all, I can't remember which.

Okay, thought so yeah, just wanted to make sure and my understanding is also that the lowest clock etc speed is what both cards are gonna run at?

If you can get both the cards at the same clock speed its preferable,

AMD is a lot better for Cross Firing cards, they'll let you do a lot of things, If I remember correctly... pare a 380 and a 390.

If I remember the cards will match they're speeds, so the higher will underclock itself to match the slower card

Cool, gonna see what i can find, would be nice with a 2nd lightning card, but they seem to be rather rare, atleast here in Denmark.
