Seems fine to me.

However, I will still say that +140MHz is a pretty agressive overclock.

ok well when I talk to most people the say a decent overclock would be considered getting to +1500mhz core clock which for me is only +96. Is a 1500mhz oc decent or have I been misinformed?

I haven't had much experience overclocking 970s, so I simply don't know what to expect.

But doing some quick calculations, a 1500MHz overclock would mean a performance increase of about 30% out of spec.

While that is definitely not an unrealistic goal, it is still a pretty big overclock.

I am still confused with the memory because people can easily hit +500 but i see artifacting at +300

That is also all down to the silicone lottery.

Also is the 500MHz calculated in Afterburner or by the real speed output? Becuase when you increase the speed by 1 in Afterburner, the effective speed is increased by 2.

ok so +250 would really mean +500 when used in afterburner. Thats good to know because I can sit at +250 fine when it is applied in afterburner. I have also been looking at some of the other decent 970 G1 gaming cards and many people sit in the range of 1500-1590mhz before they start crashing. I have a feeling I just had an unrealistic expectation of the card.
