I was just looking @some benchmarks and I saw that in some games the 5820k performs worse than a 4790k- I'm assuming that the tests are run using a  non-overclocked chip? 

if you OC a 5820k you'll get roughly the same gaming performance as a 6700k.

 

I said roughly cuz worst case their may be some optimization issues and so you'll see like a small difference, which is always like <5%. The big advantage of the 5820k is when games max out the 4790//6700k, at that point the 6700k's FPS will drop dramatically while the 5820ks will still be good.

 

Some people say the frametime is better on the 5820k cuz the cache is larger but i haven't looked much into that.
