as the owner of a Corsair Vengeance K65 i can say that this keyboard is absolutely awesome!

i don't know what your friend likes, but this one uses MX reds, so it's a linear switch.

make the clicking sounds with your mouth, jk

Been using the coolermaster mechanical keyboards, browns and blacks are pretty cool.

Cooler Master have good quality keyboards at good prices.

There's not much criteria, so we don't really know what to recommend. Not sure on what looks good aesthetically to your friend.

As for the type of Cherry MX switch, it again is dependent on your friend. Normally the Brown switch is a very safe switch to go, but maybe they will prefer the click of the Blues, or the smoothness of the Reds.

I'm currently typing this sentence with the one Interfectorem posted, except with blue switches. I sort of wish I had chosen brown switches instead, but blue was cheaper at Newegg.

The micro-USB cable connection looks sturdy. The keycaps have paint that will wear off in time. I've had mine for three months, and the WASD keys are ever so slightly rubbing off again. You can always replace the keycaps with 3rd party caps later.

It's pretty good, 10/10 would buy again.

I really like my Logitech g710+ it has been holding up great and isn't that loud imo. I don't think you can go wrong with any cherry switch keyboard :D as long as s/he is happy with it.
