Geforce 8800 GTX

Go to solution Solved by Edgar R. Zakarian,

Resolution:: Windows installation was corrupt due to power outage during windows update!!! This fucked up windows, even though it was seemingly working perfectly!

I tried replacing ram, graphics card and updating ALL drivers including gpu and chipset.

the solution was simply a reinstall of windows.!!

I think that guy likes rainbows. Get him a purple mouse and a red keyoboard - ones he's missing :D

I think I will LOL

Everytime I see his rig, I'm like FIX DAT COLOUR PLS.

Also, I'm gonna do a 960 SLI just for the fun of it. :^)

Didn't need that much power for my measly 1080p gaming so I went with the cheapest.

Meh SLI will put me in the cool kids rank anyway LOL

Yup, time to retire it. 10 years is quite a lot honestly. I hope I get 5 from my card (running furmark, manually stopping fans and turning PC case sideways while on were dumb things to do)

Yup, we have to. That's what I intend to do in the future anyway. Will likely re-use my PSU next time as it's likely still going to be under warranty. CPU is also not being changed anytime soon. Maybe some new case fans if the stock ones break or an SSD/HDD if it breaks. Most likely a GPU upgrade when I see something worth my money or some asshole decides to reject my warranty :D (I really hope that doesn't happen, come to think of it, I hope I never need to resort to warranty :( )

I usually treat everything I got as they are out of warranty.

Even my overclock is very conservative. I only run 1.32v to keep the CPU healthy. I can probably hit 4.7GHz with 1.40v since I'm under water.

Omg, it seems it's only AIDA stress test that crashes it now.

I can watch 1080p youtube videos, and play hearthstone on high settings, 1080p . using 95% of the gpu. Not crashing what so ever. WHAAAT???? Dno, but it works for now, baking it for 11 mins at 180'C Worked this time aswell haha

But if it's been working fine for a month, it's unlikely to be bricked.

They're pretty strict about warranty here. If you break it, they won't fix it.

I don't know how but a lot of people have been denied RMAs for K processors that they burnt out.

Well I haven't touched any clocks or voltages so I shouldn't get denied a warranty replacement for a fan or vrm right?

You gotta fight it out with the rep over the counter lol

They assume that you've voided your warranty until proven otherwise.

Aren't there stickers on it? I mean, ones that get torn if you remove anything

I could always contact Asus as well - they don't want bad PR AFAIK.

Which is why all the companies here MSI, Asus etc has a warranty sticker one way or another. I know EVGA allows you to repaste your GPU and that's why there's not EVGA HQ here.

It's an old DDR2 setup. So it's a Quad core intel. Intel Core2Quad Q9450 2.66GHz Stock. Should be fiiiiiine

Total setup

Intel Core2Quad 2.66Ghz (Stock intel cooler, 1 leg broken off)

8GB DDR2 800MHz Ram

MSI N460 GTX OC 1GB edition

550 AeroCool Powersupply (or something like that - Red fans on it)

OOOOOOLD MSI Case from 2002 I think.

Nice!

A 460 would be better than the 8800GTX haha

That heatsink is sooo huge man.

It works! But the problem still persists :/ Display driver crashes... WTF!!!!!
