Windows 7 key for Windows 10?

So heres the thing, i am currently running windows 10, i upgraded from windows 7. i have a new mobo coming and will need to reinstall windows. now seeing as i have windows 10 on a flash drive i would like to just use that. So can i use my windows 7 activation key to activate windows 10? i will of course strip my key from win 7 before so as not to be trying and bind it to both OS's

I know annoying but no,you got to install windows 7 again and upgrade again
