That's my guess. The life span of each gpu will depend on the the specific chip itself.

You're telling me, I should overclock to get 5% more performance but decrease the life span by about 30%. I'm okay.

It's more like 10-20%--more on the higher side. As for life span, it's never guaranteed since it depends on the chip but overclocked or not, it would more than likely last longer than your next upgrade.

If my PC will not be struggling, I do not see a point to OC, when I see it struggling, I'll OC.

Have you looked around for better prices? Scan probably aren't the cheapest for everything.

Scan are the best, the trick is to go on the today only section, i saw a 7970 GHz for £275 at one time.
