When I was fixing my PC, I had a problem compatibility issue which sounded like

"Some Intel Z87 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Haswell Refresh CPUs."

Is that a serious problem and should I be concerned? Thanks!

most should be updated at the factory now so I don't think there will be a problem

Spoiler

My system is the Dell Inspiron 15 5559 Microsoft Signature Edition

Nope, usually the latest BIOS will be shipped with your board. If not, a simple flash with a USB stick will do the trick. I recommend a Z97 board though.
