Hi! I would like to upgrade from my 270x to something better performing, with more vRAM. I don't have a ton of money, and I'd have to use the money I'd get from the 270x to get the new card. I might be able, at most, to add about 1000 SEK to that money. That's about $115. Components are really expensive here. A GTX 970 is 3990 SEK, or $450, a 980Ti is 7299 (cheapest model), or $830. I'd get between 1000 and 1400 SEK for the 270x, $115-160. So I'd have between 2000-2400 at most. $230-275.

Help?

Then a R9-390(x) is your best bet.

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!

For that money you should be able to get a GTX 960. Mind you, the performance boost won't be that impressive. I'd recommend saving up a bit and getting something more powerful.

Desktop:     Core i7-9700K @ 5.1GHz all-core = ASRock Z390 Taichi Ultimate = 16GB HyperX Predator DDR4 @ 3600MHz = Asus ROG Strix 3060ti (non LHR) = Samsung 970 EVO 500GB M.2 SSD = ASUS PG279Q

Notebook:  Clevo P651RG-G = Core i7 6820HK = 16GB HyperX Impact DDR4 2133MHz = GTX 980M = 1080p IPS G-Sync = Samsung SM951 256GB M.2 SSD + Samsung 850 Pro 256GB SSD

Let me ask you, then; For a gamer and Indie 3D game dev, is the 270x a card that needs upgrading from?

That's difficult to say. That depends on the kind of games you play and what kind of development you're doing. But it also depends (perhaps most importantly) on what you consider an acceptable experience.

For most games the 270x is acceptable at 1080p if you don't insist on high graphics settings.

Well, it still does high on most things, with some settings turned to Medium and all AA and other post-processing turned off.

The game I'm working on won't be too intense, the goal being to create a game that many people can play. It will have fun and interactive gameplay, but also be sort of artsy, symbolic, and deep. The most intensive game I currently own is Far Cry 3. Of course, I will get more in the future, but I have a ton of PC games on disc from earlier times to keep me busy.
