why should i pay more ?

Go to solution Solved by Levent,

Can't say anything about the others, but the D3H runs like a champ, I've never had an issue with mine. I think the issues you're reading about are early BIOS issues rather than the actual board, with F18 it runs just fine. I've been able to run my 3570K @ 4.7 GHz, but run it at 4.5 GHz for 24/7 use just to be on the safe side.

I believe it'll do what you want. My friend has the G45 and is at around 4.3 ghz, but only because he's limited by his heatsink. Let me warn you that he cracked his first G45 though because the PCB is really thin compared others. But paying for a mid-end motherboard should get you what you want. 4.5 ghz isn't asking for much at all.

None at all, I'm running my 3570k at 4.3Ghz with 1.184v and I could easily get the volts lower but I'm happy where its at.

alright guys thanks i got my mind clear about my decision the discount is for this weekend and if i can get them to bring me G45 i will buy it if not i will get D3H and be ok with it

im planing to get MSI Z77-G45 and its currently 1/3 less price of Gigabyte Z77X-D3H
i saw comments about G45 and its vrm since im planning to delid and overclock my 3570k to 4.4-4.5ghz
i am going to crossfire with another 7850 (waiting for currency to go down)
this system going to running for next 4 years (will be powered on %90 of the time)
and i have a third and most expensive selection which is Asus P8Z77-V PRO (2x price of G45A and 1/4 less price of Z77X D3H)

i also heard lots of bad stuff about Z77X-D3H and i have bad feeling about gigabyte from my current motherboard

my budget is on turkish lira i cant exactly say my budget in dollar or euro because of changing exchange rates and greedy distributors combined with %21 tax

so sum all up together would i better pay more for my needs or which one of them will be fine for me?

MSI Z77-G45 240TL

GB Z77X-D3H 385TL

 Asus P8Z77-V PRO 509TL

Hey, sorry but I couldn't manage to understand what you were trying to ask. Could you try and explain what you need to know?

I'm finding it hard to believe your OC is limited by your board sorry man, but there is a bloke over on MMO Champ with an i5-3570k @4.4ghz literally because that is the highest multiplier his board has running on some $80 MSI z77 board. If you got a bunk chip a cheaper VRM solution isn't going to help however rather than getting another board your probably better off deliding + better cooler. As for the actual boards though I can't honestly comment on them if the d3h is expensive I wouldn't bother with it its nothing special.

What is your current board and how is the vrm limiting you if you don't mind me asking.

yeah its kinda clusterfuck so simply (imma try) will G45 do for what i need? or investing on better motherboard will be better ?(reminding that i could save for ssd or maybe GTX7XX)

If you are asking about the quality of the g45 then I can personally say that I love mine and it runs my 3570k @ 4.3Ghz 24/7 and has been for months.

i am wondering about vrm quality have you experienced any voltage related issues?

my board is DS3H which has no manual voltage control and any other voltage related controls (such as vdroop etc...)

the GPU with only 2GB of VRAM is going to struggle after a year or so.

And no, getting another GPU adds up the VRAM.

yeah i know i might end up selling my current card for GTX770

As far as I can tell the GA45 should be good for your needs I haven't heard any issues with it if your only aiming for 4.4-4.5 I would say it should certainly do, looks to be better build quality than my extreme 4 which I have managed to boot at up to 4.7ghz but wasn't able to get it stable due to heat production.

Just get the G45... It's a great board for the price.

I'm using one right now and I've had my 3570k at 4.6 ghz for nearly a yea 24/7 now.

Sure, there will always be motherboards with better vrm designs and such but it's not that you don't have enough to reach some pretty high overclocks.

People tend to over obsess over the overclocking capabilities that they wouldn't be able to take advantage of unless they were doing some liquid nitrogen cooling anyway.

The Z77X D3H, is a high quality midrange motherboard, it over-clocks nicely, and is excellent value for money, can't comment on the other boards as I have not tried them, but the Gigabyte is very good.
