New system, RAM question

So my I fried my motherboard a two weeks ago so I'm about to buy new parts and just upgrade my whole rig. I'm wondering if the speed of the RAM I choose will affect it? I heard some cpus don't support certain RAM speeds? Will the 6700k support 3000mhz speed? I assume it wouldn't be a problem.

My planned upgrade parts:

CASE: Corsair 450D

CPU: i7-6700k

CPU cooler: H110I GTX

MOBO: Asus Z170 - Deluxe

RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR4 16GB (4x4) 3000mhz

GPU: old GTX 770

DDR4? >.<

I would suggest 2x8GB RAM instead of 4x4GB RAM. I prefer G.Skill.

Also this Board is .. BIG.. ;)

3000mhz is good enough. Anything above 2400mhz isn't really noticable

I always figured it was better to spread the ram out to all the slots? The board says ATX so i figured it would fit

z170 is dual channel,

4x4 will fit. But you have upgrade possibilities when using 2x8 GB, if you wish to create a little ramdisc or something haha ;D

The skylake series had a dual channel memory controller, you won't see and difference when installing 4 dimms instead of 2, if it had a quad channel memory controller you would see a small difference in a few special case situations but it doesn't, so get 2 dimms and you most likey don't need more then 8gb in total.
