Uningine Crash When Benchmarking Certain OC Settings

I have been spending these last few hours testing and tweaking my new set OC for my 980Ti, though when I push around 1443+ on the GPU core (haven't touched memory yet) I get a crash from both Valley or Heaven. During the benchmark there are no artifacting, or any problems. However when this happens there is no notification that the Display Driver has failed, which is usually accompanied with such an issue.

Is there just a lack of notification? Or are these two programs having issues. I can try others such as 3Dmark to see if this persists. Systems Specs are possible if needed.

That you are not seeing artifacts is no guarantee that there are not problems.  A hard crash (no warning or error message) is as sure an indication of instability as anything else.

 

Sounds like you've hit your limit, back down and see if you can get a full run.

 

Edit:  You might also consider that Unigine benchmarks are a synthetic, so it is quite possible that you might not have similar problems in whatever applications/games that you normally use.  In which case another form of benchmarking is to simply play an hour or two of whatever you normally play.  So try that, and use something like Fraps to check what sor to real life performance you are getting, then tweak as necessary to get max performance in the games/applications that actually matter to you.

Yeah I already found a sweet spot at about 1421 GHz, but still wanted to clear this up.

What kind of score were you getting?  I suspect it is that not much different than you would have got at 1444.

Uningine Valley -- 3926 -- AVg. FPS is 93.8

Uningine Heaven -- 2429 -- avg. about 90 (didn't take record on that measure last time I ran it , but remember it was in 90's)
