Networking question

I have a DGN2000 Netgear router right now and it sucks. To top that off the wireless is going bad constantly loosing connection and range is less than 50ft. So my resolution was to buy an access point, a small one the would just cover the house and nothing else then i decided it would be best to get the (UniFi AP Long Range) and cover my house, backyard, front yard and more. But i only have one question, i dont want to have a green thing sticking out of my living room ceiling so if i stick this in my atic even though its up about another 30ft from were im going to be using a device will it still work properly.

The signal from a router can usually travel up and down through a house quite easily as between floors is usually only a bit of wood.

As long as your house isn't made of concrete you'll be fine. You could get some range extenders later if you want to try and flood every nook and crannie with glorious Wifi.

And wherever possible, use the sacred cable! Ethernet is your friend.

Ye if you can use ethernet or powerline plugs or even get some of those powerline access points around the house because they do not need any more wiring and they work well if you have a few round the house.
