Ok, so I have been getting this error for every update for the past 2 weeks. I tried everything in every response in the official Microsoft thread, came to no luck, still giving me the same errors, plus now, everything seems to need administrator privileges after I did their "fix" or multiple fixes. I couldn't update 8.1 security updates or upgrade to 10 due to this. I have pictures attached of what it shows at first then after.

Any suggestions of how to fix the error?

Try turning OFF and THAN back ON your computer and try installing again (I found that on my Windows 7 a "reset" wasn't enough and I had to turn off the computer and than turn it back on to complete install [on a game but that is besides the point])

Disable the AntiVirus and Turn off Firewall and see if that works. Googled it.

That error code is "access denied", I do believe.  Make sure that you are logged in with admin rights.

If not, do you have multiple internal hard drives plugged in as well as non-essential devices plugged in? If so, turn off the system completely (flip the switch too) and temporarily disconnect them all. Then power your system back on and try to update. Does it fail again, and with the same error code?
