I would've loved to have an R9 390 but sadly, my 1,020 USD budget did not permit. I got a Z97 MOBO even tho I cant OC my CPU because, well, I couldn't find a Z87 chipset mobo that is red at this price point (although I didn't really look too deep into it.) I would like to hear opinions on the savage SSD, I've heard that it can go up to 560 MB/S read and 530 MB/S write and honestly, that's almost better than the 850 Samsung Pro and it's not as expensive. But it's Kingston, after I discovered their horrid read/writes on the V300 SSDs, I really didn't like their SSDs. Also, if you guys have any fixes you would like to make, please go right ahead!

Would like to see some feedback please! https://pcpartpicker.com/parts/partlist/

I came up with this build here which is better. Also only like $50 more expensive. (Rebates are really not reliable, don't put your hopes on getting them done)

The cpu is better, unclocked, and I was able to include an aftermarket cooler.

Tried making the ram and motherboard match the red theme.

As for the ssd, I don't know why you need a red ssd, you're literally not gonna see it at all. inb4 someone says something, i use A-data and have no issues with their ssds. Also included 1tb WD hdd.

I prefer nvidia, but a 390 probably is your best choice.

Kept the case, wifi adapter, monitor, keyboard/mouse. You really don't need a disk drive.

And i recommend buying windows 8.1 pro from reddit or g2a for like 20-25 and then getting a free upgrade to 10 pro (make sure you do a clean install when upgrading to windows 10, i didn't my first time and I ran into many issues. did a clean install and works perfectly now)

Thanks so much! But honestly, I didn't even know the SSD wasn't visible until now. My budget is max 1020 USD so I can't really get that PC. I'm using a disk drive for the windows 8 but now that I think about it, if I'm purchasing it from G2A and they give me a code, why would I need the disk drive. Thanks! Also, if I want to connect to the internet will I need a wireless adapter? Or does the mobo already have wifi?

in most cases you have to buy the wifi adapter.

g2a gives you a key and you just download the iso from microsofts website. i recommend spending the dollar extra for g2a shield, that makes it where if your key is bad they'll replace you a new one for free

Alright so for your build I can either get an R9 380 instead of an R9 390 or I can get a locked CPU over an unlocked CPU. What compromise do you think I should make? I will not be doing any video editing. Mostly just gaming (Crysis 3, LoL, Witcher 3, etc).

I changed it a bit to go with a non-unlocked cpu route

Well technically my budget is 1550 USD but I'm putting in 530$ into a laptop for highschool. It's an Acer Aspire e5 on newegg, I like it because of the nvidia 940 at 500$ isn't bad at all.

However this is possible by getting all the rebates  :D Is the optical drive and the wireless adapter necessary? You could save some money now at the start and get them later down the road if you need them. Also, get Windows from G2A waaaayyyy cheaper.

I'd love to connect to the Internet with the adapter so yes that's necessary. I'm removing the optical drive.
