Buy windows 10 from the microsoft store.

2. run the above tool and select "save iso" instead of "upgrade"

1) you can't install 10 via windows update unless you go thorugh all the updates first

 

2) fresh install 7, then upgrade.

If you're sick of waiting for the update to pop up naturally, you could manually download the ISO from this site. I only did the upgrade myself. But my understanding is that if you want to do a clean install you'll need to install the upgrade, then do a clean install.

 

And if you haven't already, make sure all of your important drivers (sound, video card, peripherals, etc.) have Windows 10-compatible versions before doing this.
