Hey everyone!

i am planning to build a pc focused for rendering but also for gaming of course, my budget is $2000. i have seen a lot of posts going back and forth about 8350 and i7 4770k. Just not very sure on a finalised plan yet. i have been messing around seeing what would fit the budget and giving maximum performance, i would like 2 run dual monitors but that does not have to be included in price.

My build so far.

gtx 760 asus directcu cooling II Oc  2 of these $559.98($279.99 ea.)

Intel i7 4770k $379.99
z87 pro asus motherboard $209.99
kingston hyperx 3k series 2 of theses $259.98($129.99 ea.)
cooler master silent pro 850 modular psu $139.99
 G.SKILL Rip jawsx sersies 8gb 1600mhz ram $75.99

Cooler Master Seidon 240m liquid cpu cooler 99.99

Fractal Design define r4 titanium grey with window$119.99

Asus 24x dvd-rw drive $19.99

Seagate 3tb seagate baracuda $129.99

adds to about $1995.88

Feel free to suggest changes and what you would do personally!

Thank you everyone

Looks good. You may want 16GB RAM for rendering I believe. Also an SSD for OS and programs.

i5 4670k | Sapphire 7950 | Kingston 120GB SSD | Seagate 1TB | G.Skill Ripjaw X Series 8GB

PB238Q | Steelseries Sensei | Ducky DK9087 | Qck Heavy

I still stand by a single stronger GPU over two weaker ones, I would say get a 780 since it's based off a similar GK-104 chip as the titan and is AMAZING fir gaming and rendering. Also 16GB's of ram, it's not needed in games but it's really good to have for rendering. also high speed ram can help a lot in rendering. Also good to have if you want to run a game off ramdisk.

I would settle for one 780. get a better quality PSU like this

Corsair 600T White | Gigabyte Z77-UD3H | Intel Core i5-2500k | 8GB Gskill Ares@1600MHz | Gigabyte G1 GTX970 | OCZ ZT 550 | Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB | Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB | Samsung 840 EVO 250GB (boot) | Full Custom Loop | NZXT HUE

I have that PSU it's extremely good, ran a core 2 quad extreme at 3.5GHZ and two 480's in sli with no problems. (If you know these two parts alone are extremely power hungry things)

the 480's alone I know are a test of any PSU's will

What kind of rendering are you doing? Programs you are using and how heavy they are?

the gtx780 is better for rendering but it is about another 100 dollars so i am not sure if it is worth it, because two 760 do outperform it in gaming, but not rendering.

wow that is very good for the money! i do have one question though, the z87-a motherboard does it have any problems overclocking? cause i do hear for overclocks you want a higher priced board, i would like to over clock to 4.2-4.5 if it lets me.

Even the cheapest z87 motherboard will have no problem with 4.8 ghz if your chip and cooling allows it.

Just as an FYI, I recommend a single for two reasons.

1: less power consumption.

2: Better game and driver support.

Also if you go 780's you can always buy another one in let's say 6 months to a year and be set for a good chunk of time

did you just put a mATX board in a full tower?  what about a 350d or R4
