Hi,

After getting my laptop stable on Windows 10, I've gotten to upgrading my main PC as well. Besides having to go through the same thing I had to do with my laptop in order to get Windows stable with correct drivers, I'm having issues launching Edge. Every time I try to launch it, it'll give me an error "Your trial period for this app has expired. Visit the Microsoft Store to purchase the full app." Also Windows Update seems to be missing in Control Panel. I'm running Windows 10 Pro if that makes any difference.

Any help will be great. Thanks in advance!

Has Windows 10 Pro actually been activated? - You can see if it is under Control Panel/ System

I had the same issue.

I wouldn't use the Edge browser anyway, Chrome/Firefox is much better.

that means your windows 10 isnt activated

Yes Windows is activated. I was using a Windows 8 key provided by DreamSpark through my University and upgraded to 8.1, then 10.

I would try reinstalling W10 if possible, if not then roll back to W8(since W10 is new and glitchy). This seems like a silly issue, but these silly issues have silly fixes.

Is the store available? If yes, you might have to launch it and wait a moment for it to begin updating your apps. Since the updates for edge are managed over the store (as far as i know), this might solve your problem.

Store is available but getting error code 0x803F8001 when trying to update apps. Only MSN Food & Drink as well as Reader seem to be on the queue.

Try resetting the Windows Store cache:

1.) Close everything

2.) Right-click the Start button and select: "Command Prompt (Admin)"

3.) Type the following and press Enter: WSReset.exe

4.) Open the Store and click on your account at the top-right (next to the search box)

5.) Select: "View Account" and make sure your account is successfully logged in, once that is done try opening Edge again

I did that and upon going to "View Account", it still gives me that my trail of Edge has expired. Setting the default browser to Chrome works but still doesn't solve the issues with Edge.
