First Build Won't Install Windows

Go to solution Solved by Lion & Stag,

Hi guys,

I've been having a lot of issues with my first build. I've been trying to install Windows 8.1 (from Disk) all night and have had no success.

Initially I've had problems simply getting into BIOS due to various Q Code errors on the mobo.

Eventually, I got it to successfully boot and it repeatedly crashed saying your PC is having problems before automatically restarting.

After 7 or 8 times of reaching this screen, it "successfully" installed Windows 8.1 (using my verification code) wherein it required a restart to complete the installation.

Since then, every time I have received a message stating...

"The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows instillation cannot proceed. To install Windows, click "OK" to restart the computer, and the restart the installation."

This message has appeared approximately 20 times and I have no idea what to do from here.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Lewis

Sounds like there's something wrong in your bios settings, take a look there.

Everything in bios appears to be correct and is all set to default, aside from the CPU fan speed which is set to max (if not on max CPU fan is not detected with the GTX 100i, a common known problem according to the Corsair forum.)

However, while in the cycle of restarting it will not allow me access to the bios menu without being forcibly turned off i.e. by the power button and will only allow access on first attempt, not on any subsequent restart.
