Hi everyone!

It's that time of year, when I am back from University and working endless night shifts at ASDA (Walmart), racking up the hours for a nice pay-day to tinker around with my PC. This year I am planning to change my case to something a little bit more stylish/water cooling friendly, I also plan to get rid of my SLI set-up and go for a single GPU.

My PC specs at the moment are in my signature and can also be found on PCPartPicker. As you can see my build is monochrome and I would like to keep this theme, I also don't want a much bigger case than I already have.

Currently I am thinking of changing my case to a Phanteks Enthoo Evolv ATX and my GPU's for a Gigabyte 980 Ti G1 Gaming.

Does anyone else have any comments/suggestions? :)

IMO Your system is already top of the line. If you don't have a custom loop I'd do that. But other than that you should just save.

There's no point in spending money on your PC just for the sake of spending money on your PC.

Thanks!

I think you're nuts but if you want to go for it then go for it. The system seems pretty much beastly for anything but 4k but if you can afford it then go right on ahead. You seem to have the right idea. I don't have anything to add beyond that lol

I should probably have mentioned that I have had an opportunity to sell a lot of my old parts for a decent amount of money, but I offered to include my current case and one of my 780s, the money from this would basically pay for my upgrade. I do have to agree though, this upgrade is more a case of "want rather than need".

Ahh. Makes sense. So you would be able to upgrade pretty much for free. That certainly makes sense and I would then highly suggest upgrading! lol

if the R4 isn't watercooling friendly enough then I don't know what is :P

The Enthoo Pro should be fine though like you suggested. Also a third monitor wouldn't hurt.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

I don`t think you can get any more bang for your buck when it comes to the GTX 980ti so choose which ever manufacturer suits your color scheme... on the case part i really like the Corsair Air series i liked it so much that i built my pc around the Air 240 which is plenty of space and well ventilated if you are planning for a custom loop the Air 540 might suit you better. Both of them have 2 separate compartments so you will only show the good stuff not the radiator or pump... Good luck!

I know the Define R4 has a lot of space inside, however I do like the Phanteks case's native watercooling support.

The enthoo Pro is a nice case ! :) haha I would love a third monitor but as you can tell from the pictures in the PCPartPicker link, space is tight!

Thanks for your input :) I do like the the air series, but like getting a third monitor, the wider case will take up a bit too much space for my set up.

Like this is probably going to sound stupid, so take it with a grain of salt. I'm probably younger than you, and I wished I spent less money on this shit. Like looking back I've spent nearly a grand on monitors, I got $400 headphones, a $200 studio mic, and the list keeps rising.

Now that I have a new car, and am spending over $700/mo for it, and I still have rent in September, I really wish I just fucking saved money.

Though, I don't really regret any of it, and I'm already looking at a ~$600 audio upgrade, as well as a CAI, exhaust, coilovers, tint, undercarriage spray, etc, etc

BASICALLY, FUCK MONEY.

Luckily I've got my car, rent and the essentials all sorted, I earn enough money from my second job to pay for all this and still have disposable income :)
