I'de wait for Skylake. You should see a ~10-20% gain in non- cpu bound games, more in CPU bound games.

I'm currently using an FX8350 with a really bad asrock mobo, which I was planning to replace.

 

However, I really want to swap to intel, as I've had bad experience with AMD lately.

 

My question is, should I just go Haswell or should I wait for Skylake (Which is only a few days)

 

Also what kind of performance gains will I see moving from an 8350 to something like a 4690?

Running a GTX970 STRIX

I'm one of the people that's been saying wait for skylake, but recently when I saw the price for new z170 motherboard for the skylake processor it changed my mind. Yes skylake is nice if you have the money to spend. If you plan on spending well over $1000 on your build then you should wait. Other than that I don't know of any good reason worth waiting for. At this point there has been a lot of sales and promotion for the haswell cpu combo. Still its rumored to be released in a few weeks s might worth the wait just to compare.
