windows 10 ram question

is it just me or is windows 10 just eating my ram, just installed it and sitting on desktop with nothing open its using 2 out of 8gb of ram, and ive went into settings at turned off all background apps, and with one chrome tab it jumps to 2.2 gb usage. anybody else noticing this ?

my laptop- toshiba satelite p850, cpu- i7-3630qm ram- 8gb 1600mhz hdd- 1tb 5400rpm gpu- Nvidia gt630m 2gb
