You only need the most basic DVI, 19-pin "Single-Link DVI-D". The center 6-pin cluster (dual-link) is not necessary, and the four pins on the side (DVI-I) are not necessary.

HDMI does not have any of those extra pins so even if you get a DVI adapter with those pins in place, ultimately they will not be connected to anything on the HDMI side anyway.
