Hi all,

I need some help to find a case for my build. I have an Intel DX79SI motherboard and I want to cool the processor with a 240mm AIO such as the H100i. I don't want a case that is too large and a window is preferable. I was looking at the Fractal Design R4 and my only concern is it fitting the H100i with my motherboard. Are there any other cases? I was also looking at the Thermaltake S71 and in a computex video I noticed they may release a snow edition but I can't find this anywhere. What are your opinions? What other options are there apart from the R4?

Thanks

The bitfenix shinobi window model is a good case and i'm pretty sure it can take a 240 rad but i would double check that.

Go for the Fractal Design Define R4. It's a great case which allows for great cooling whilst being a silence optimized case.

It barely takes one row of fans, it won't fit. And I would not recommend this case ..

why wouldn't you reccomend this case?

coolermaster n400 if you want small at all cost,

coolermaster n600 if a bit bigger isn t a problem.

these cases mount the h100 on the side panel (same one mobo is on)

arc midi got offset rad mounts on top btw..

why wouldn't you reccomend this case?

It's a love/hate, mostly hate relationship. The case looks aesthetically decent, but the internals suck. Where to begin, the 3.5" drive bays are 45 degrees the wrong way around - it makes it difficult to insert drives and you can only have them one way if you have intake fans. The motherboard cutout is tiny, I had to take the motherboard in and out a number of times just to put a cooler into the case (Corsair H60 '2013') - because I thought the cutout was big enough .. because there was one. There is no overhead clearance for radiators, this goes for 98% of motherboards with heat spreaders - and the rear fan area clearance is small. I don't even know how I got a H60 in there. Unnecessary number of 5.25" bays, ridiculous for an ATX case. There are also no dedicated 2.5" slots, you need to use stupid brackets which ruins the internals and is very inconvenient. Cable management is a gimmick, no grommets & bad cut locations.

Need I go further? lol

I suggest the Corsair Obsidian 650D or 550D, but the 550D does not have a window. Both are excellent choices and fit up to an ATX board. The top of the cases fit either a dual 120mm or dual 140mm radiator, so they are excellent.

Currently I'm debating between the C70 from Corsair and the Fractal R4. I'm unsure of which to get though. Had a look at those suggestions and I'm not too sure.

R4 looks better, but you risk the h100i not being able to fit.

I have an Antec 900 case.

It's a great case... it has a window and plenty of airflow.  But it is pretty heavy and a decently large size
