Random FPS drops in games

Go to solution Solved by Godlygamer23,

Anything below 80 degrees C at least per GPU. At least. And yes, please do that.

This is my problem, When I'm playing any games I get random FPS drops from 60~ all the way down to 5 or even 1. I don't know what I've done wrong or what settings I'm doing wrong. I had gotten a new graphics card(Returned mine and gotten a new 590) and the problem persisted, so i can semi rule out graphics card problem.

Few games I play : League of legends, Tera, Warframe, TF2, Cod4 and a few more.

Drivers updated recently? If so, rollback. Even if you didn't update recently, try an older driver for your card.

Thanks for the fast reply :)

Drivers are updated and I've used different drivers. This problem has been going on for quite some time.

Do you have any software in the background that monitors GPU usage, temperatures, etc?

When playing those games, does everything seem normal?

You mean temps? or like the games it's self? I haven't tested the temps... I'm not sure what normal temps are when gaming.

I can try playing some games for a bit and see what the temps go upto.

It may be your CPU temps, are you using an aftermarket cooler?

Try running RealTemps when you're playing games, if it goes above 90c then you've got a problem with the cooling.

80C is generally the limit.

I disagree, my cousins CPU hits 85c, and his games still work fine, once it goes over 90c, then you will start seeing lag come to play, once it hits 99c the whole game starts to lag out.

Not GPU clock limit, but the silicon limit.
