Corsair CX PSU Bad?

Just wondering when this all started and why. 

 

Everytime I see a CX PSU mentioned, someone says it's a bad .  I've had mine for 2 years and never had any issues :/

Cs sux ballz unless it's a non gaming build.Such as a office build with only a i3 and no graphics card

It's NOT a rebrand. It's made by CWT for Corsair. CWT is Corsair's main manufacturer and they're decent but not remarkable. On top of that the CX builder series is built to a price point i.e. cheap. It's better than all those tier 4 and 5 mystery Chinese psu's but there's also a ton of better psu's out there, some made by Corsair.

Well that explains it, but was it always like this? Or was there a specific date where they started rebranding bad PSU's. 

 

And If I want to upgrade to say a 970 or 290 should I get a new PSU.  I think I purchased mine around 2013, although I would need to check my order to be sure.

You can't overclock your cpu or gpu much because the CX HATES heat

Would that explain my computer "crashing" in bios upon editing any setting, even if it only gave a .05 GHZ boost?

I have had a CX psu for about a year and a half. nothing bad at all. I guess i got a good unit!

Maybe it is drawing too much power, they are also known to turn off when too much power is drawn.

(Unlike my PSU which will straight up Blow up)

Well what happens is I don't even hit the "Apply" button and it crashes as I go to mouse over it. (If I remember correctly; only tried it once or twice)

Also, would it be better to go through a program given to me by the MOBO creator? Its called EasyTune.

I would say the motherboard or CPU doesn't allow that clock speed. (I don't know though)

Here's your answer, CX Series PSU's from corsair aren't meant for gaming build or high end builds, its made for office use, or light home use, thats all.

reasosns behind that is, low end components and capacitors which means if you would build a gaming systrem which will be under load for long hours it will mean that the PSU will heat up, thoes capacitors will heat up, and it will start a fire in the system, which could lead into damaging other components in the system.
