I have a 500 watt sketchy-ish PSU, my system is running an i3 540, 4 gb RAM, and I was hoping to upgrade my gpu to a GTX 660 from Asus. Problem is, I only have one PCI-e power lead (6 pin) coming from my PSU, is there any type of daisy chain adapter I could buy, or any adapter for that matter that would allow me to have a second PCI-e power? Thanks.

If you have a terrible power supply, I wouldn't try to do anything like that - I would just get a new power supply if possible.

Does your PSU have a Molex Connector? I'm sure there's some way to get a Molex to 6-pin adapter.

I've heard that molex to 6 pin isn't a good idea, pci power pushes way more through its connector than a molex. There are 2x molex to 1x6pin pci power but i'm still now sure if that's safe. Also even though it's a more generic PSU, it's continuous power and has way more headroom than I need.

I don't "trust" generic units because there are no reviews for them usually.

The 2 molex to 1 6pin PCI adaptors are generally considered safe for a decent PSU.

See if you can't find out the OEM of your PSU and see how reliable it is:
