Not booting properly.

MVPernula

Okay so I FINALLY finished my build, it is awesome and does everything I want it to. But sometimes when booting it decides not to start, fans are spinning and everything sounds fine. What makes me curious is that the monitor "detects" my pc, it goes on and off but says "No signal" whenever it starts. This forces me to kill it, right? But wait there's more! When you head for the power button you don't even have to hold it, as soon as you press the powerswitch it's dead, no need to hold it.

I can repeat trying to start it until it works, so when it starts there is NO problem what so ever.. But it all of this worries me. I've tried taking out hardware piece by piece but with no effect. What should I do?

Hey MVPernula,

I would check if all of your parts are properly places all the way in their slots and all the cables are plugged in properly all the way. Also make sure your temps are within the recommended operating ranges. I would also do a memtest and check for memory leaks to see if the RAM is functioning correctly. Here's more info on that: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms859408.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396
If you have a error code display or a beeper, is anything coming from them (any beeping sounds or error codes)?

I would check if the memory sticks are put properly all the way. I would get them out and place them back in, making sure they are placed correctly all the way. You can also try to reset your CMOS battery.

Listing your parts list might be helpful.

Well I guess I can check again to see if everything is at its place and properly plugged in, my temps are fine! I'll check the link and see if it solves the issue. Nothing beeping or anything like that. You reset you CMOS by pressing the button on the MOBO, right?

All my parts are listed on my page, even partpicker if you so desire.

I find this particularly useful as a guide on how the CMOS battery can be reset: http://www.wikihow.com/Reset-Your-BIOS
I'd also check the manual of the motherboard as I see you have a reset button on your motherboard.
