Windows 10 Clean Install

If I get the Windows 10 ISO from microsofts website and run a clean install of windows will all of my files be deleted? I know my programs will be uninstalled, but what about the files?

What is your current OS? what Data you would like to keep? do you have external hard drive or USB to store the Data?

I have windows 8.1 pro and no other drives

Figure out how large the files you want to keep are.  If its not a lot of space, just store them on a flash drive, or a secondary computer.  If its a lot you can either purchase some cloud storage, buy a secondary drive, or an external drive and store everything on that.

Sorry for the confusion, but is this an option in the upgrade process? As in, when you're upgrading to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1, there's a 'Clean Install' option you can choose? Or are you talking about doing a clean install in the sense that you wipe your entire drive and then install Windows?
