Please get an i3 just save for it as skylake is coming out soon

Right now I am looking at the AMD Athlon X4 860X as my CPU. It's use will be a medium amount of gaming like Civ V, TF2 and Fallout 4 when it comes out. Do you think the X4 is good enough or should I look for a better CPU.

Please get just save for a skylake i3 as it is coming out soon

<p>Wish I could have this already!! : http://pcpartpicker.com/p/qTLRjX

That's terrible advice. If you want someone to wait for skylake, then just wait for skylake, dont tell them to buy a brand new CPU for a month or two...

If anything if they needed a very cheap CPU for that length of time at least recommend the G3258

Would you like to be stuck in a dead socket with no upgrade path?

No? Go i3 and an LGA 1150 motherboard

Follow the topics you create using the "Follow" button in the top right corner!

One day I will have my GTX 970. One day. PC specs are at my profile.

Not sure how to check what part works with what? Check out my compatibility guide!

Moving from an AMD CPU to a Intel CPU was a waste of money for me. The only perk I see (which is the only thing i did it for) was I could upgrade using one socket and mobo. So if you want to upgrade eventually.. go for Intel, but if you don't plan on upgrading, the AMD will work just fine. Both are great. GOOD LUCK! :)
