windows 10 download question

Okay I haven't turned my pc on yet so I'm still in win 7. Seeing as it looks like 10 has some MAJOR bugs right now how to I prevent my pc from downloading it when I log in? I was on the list for the upgrade but I really don't want to upgrade till it actually works as intended. Would I lose my free upgrade if I don't though?

It will download in the background when your PC is online, but it won't install until you tell it to. There's nothing to worry about.
