What general maintenance should I be conducting on my PC every now and then, is there more then CCleaner, defragmenting and physically cleaning all the dust every month?

Taking off your CPU Heatsink and cleaning up the fans. They can get really dusty and it does affect CPU temps. Maybe also dust off the interior space and all drives (ODDs, HDDs, SSDs, etc.) as well while you're at it.

like every six months

I got this PC from a family friend and temps were like 50 idle 95 playing games. ( it's an a6-3650, worst then toast ) Well I wasn't into PCs and what not well when I got into them I opened it up and the thermal paste was like dust. Came, off with my finger. ( still used alcohol .) Put some AS5, ( was on sale for like $3 at my Office Depot, just happened to see it ) and now idle is 30 and load while, playing Minecraft with 140ish mods in a area with tons of stuff going on is around 65c.

Dude I do it only once every year or so.

I only do that as soon as I notice temps going up for no reason.

Dust - Inside 2 times per year. Outside 4 times per year or whenevery the build-up gets serious.

Thermal paste - Only when removing cooler.

System cleaning - Weekly with CCleaner and Advanced System Care Pro.

Virus scanning - Monthly or active.

Defragging - Analyze weekly. Defrag when fragmentation over 10%. I use Smart Defrag Pro.
