GPU Selection Help

Hi there everyone,

 

I'll start of by apologizing because I am sure you get this question too often.

My birthday is on the 6th of next month and I am going to get a new GFX card with my money. I can get it off any website in New Zealand. Sadly they have a large mark up on products like GFX cards but I am not going to pay shipping and immigration, and wait ages for it to arrive.

I was thinking of getting a 970 (More specifically the G1 Gaming from Gigabyte) or possibly even a 980 if I have the extra money and/or negotiation skills ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°). I am not sure if those are good cards right now or if I should be getting another one for that price point.

The MSI one was for sure the quietest by a long shot... Ill take that into consideration
