5.25" Enclousure?

And yes the one you linked will work, I doubt it will power just via USB though, you might need to use the power brick it comes with to give it more juice.

Is there anything for cheap? or some kind of cable to put a 5.25 inch bluray drive into?

Wait what? Is this for a bluray drive? The casing of the drive itself will keep it protected just fine.

It's the connectors though, they will break if you use it externally on a regular basis.

He needs a 5.25" external enclosure so he can take it with him on the go.

hm... other then an enclousure(cause it seems to be 50 bucks) is there like a cable that can power a bluray drive? sata to USB 3 or soemthing. cause i think it requires external power cause the sata to usb 3 that came with my external hdds dont work

hm i found something like this. im pretty sure that its just a sata to usb 3 with external power(which i assume would work) can anybody clafiry for me?

yea i thought so. i kind of expected because USB 3 clearly didnt give it enough power, so it might work like a 3.5inch mechanical drive. well im gonna order one then thank you for confirming.
